Rachel Clark’s MP tables Early Day Motion
Posted on 23rd March 2012 by Sue in Lobbying
Rachel Clark who initiated an e-petition to raise awareness and funding for brain tumours has engaged her MP Graeme Morrice in our fight.
Mr Morrice has tabled an Early Day Motion, to gain the support of MPs for her petition and our Wear A Hat Day on 30th March.
‘That this House welcomes the fact that March is brain tumour awareness month; notes the e-petition of Livingston resident Rachel Clark which supports the three asks of the Brain Tumour Consortium’s manifesto and aims to trigger a parliamentary debate on how the Government can raise awareness and increase funding for those affected by brain tumours; supports Brain Tumour Research and its member charities’ Wear a Hat Day 2012; and urges hon. Members and parliamentary staff to Wear a Hat on 30 March to support the charity’s important work on behalf of those affected by brain tumours.’
Rachel’s e-petition has over 9,000 signatures but we need 100,000 signatures to trigger a debate – please add your signature if you haven’t already done so and please pass on to your family, friends and contacts http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/17419
Again we need over 200 MPs signatures to trigger a debate so please email your MP http://www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/ and ask them to sign Early Day Motion 2908. See if your MP has already signed: http://www.parliament.uk/edm/2010-12/2908
