It’s a great weekend and a wonderful chance to raise money for  Brain Tumour Research

I will be taking part again with the family on this fantastic weekend on the Isle of Wight participating in the 6 mile sponsored walk (not the 15 mile sponsored walk as I think that would be one step too far for my children!). This lovely event is organised by Brain Tumour Research member charity brainstrust. Last year there were 17 (plus 4 dogs) in my party – it was wonderful to be beside the sea, and the views from the cliff top were just stunning! We were delighted to have our patron Ian Reddington and his family on the team. Between us, we raised about £1,000 for Ali’s Dream and Brain Tumour Research.

We were fed and watered brilliantly all the while, from a hearty cooked breakfast and pub lunch to tea and cakes, a beer tent and a hog roast at the finish. On the Friday we were entertained by some great bands and on the Saturday we also had a raffle, auction and quiz night, as well as some ceilidh dancing for those of us with any energy left!

It’s a great opportunity to raise money for your favourite brain tumour charity, either by sponsoring us or coming along and doing the walk yourself. We stay at Brighstone Holiday Centre (which has a heated swimming pool, much to my children’s delight), and you can opt for long or short routes which are mainly off road.

As they’re putting this event on to raise as much money as possible, they’ve agreed that each person that raises enough sponsorship for their walks will have the price of their ticket refunded if they want. For more information, visit our tickets page.

Don’t forget to set up a Brain Tumour Research JustGiving Page for sponsorship which means we get the gift aid back on any sponsorship you raise really easily.  Then all you need to do is send an email with the link to all your family, friends and colleagues and you’ll be surprised just how generous everyone is and how much you will raise to help us raise funds for much needed brain tumour research.

I look forward to seeing you there
